I have been trying to decide whether to re-landscape the side of my house. I don't want to touch my main garden as I just love the space there. I often hold garden parties there and I have a nice big popup gazebo I like to erect there for such events.
I live in an end of group townhouse and had some professional landscaping done about 10 years ago. The side of the house is on a hill, so I had a lovely stacked stone wall built that steps down the side of the house. The stone looks nice against the siding of the house. The landscapers put in many Mountain Laurel bushes along with a variety of perennials. Over the year, I neglected the Mountain Laurel bushes in terms of maintenance. Their growth is out of control and they have become very unwieldy to trim, such to the point that I just can't do it. I can't decide if I should just tackle them myself or hire a landscaper to rip out the bushes and other plantings and start all over (leaving the wall, of course.) The perennials included day lilies, hostas, sedum, irises and something with little yellow flowers. Unfortunately, since the bushes have become so overgrown, it is quite difficult to see and enjoy the perennials beneath them and they are beginning to get choked out. The project seems too big for me, and just gets larger the longer I neglect it. I'm leaning towards letting the professionals take care of us but am dreading the possible costs involved. |

I have been taking a course in carpet cleaning and there is no doubt at all that I am enjoying myself. Ever since i moved in to my apartment, it has been the most challenging work for me in the house. For this reason, i decided to take a course and see if it will make any difference.The classes have been very helpful to me so far and that is why i cant wait to get to my next class:how to get rid of carpet smells. This is because i am a drunkard and by the time i get home, i am all wet and messed up. I end up sleeping on the carpet and vomit, as a result my carpet is usually smelly and dirty. The coming lesson will help me a lot because i will be in a position to take care of my carpet despite my uncontrollable behavior, and at the same time attend to my work without having to worry about getting visitors in my home. Carpeting lessons have been a great help for me. |
