How to Get Fit

If you want to get fit, then you will firstly need to establish in your head what you mean by being fit. There is really no one definition of it and so it is almost up to you to decide what you think it means to you, Perhaps you want to be able to run for a bus without gasping for breath or you just want to know in your head that you are exercising regularly.
Once you have established what you want to achieve, then you need to think about how you are going to reach that goal. You may want to sign up at a gym or think about how you can fit exercise in to your daily routine. Some people find it much easier to stick to things if they work with a friend. It might be a good idea to work out together, do exercise classes together or to meet regularly at the gym or in a boot camp. If you cannot do this, then it can be good to get a bit of competition going between you to see who can stick to their exercise plan the best.
One of the most important things though, is that you need to make sure that you do not overdo things to start with. It is very tempting to start things very quickly and this is especially tempting if you are exercising with someone who is already used to it. However, you can easily injure yourself if you do this, even if you think you are fit. For example if you walk miles every day and then decide to start running, you could still injure yourself because running is quite different to walking in the pressure put on the body even though it uses the same muscles. You also need to make sure that you warm up and down properly or else your muscles will get stiff and sore.
