In Gratitude for all that Mom has given us

I am Nadine, the eldest of three children. We lost our dad to heart attack when I was only about five years old. Since then, mom had to work abroad in order to provide for all our needs. Being the eldest, I have to assume parenting duties to my younger siblings while mom was away. I am not complaining because I know what I do is nothing compared to all the sacrifices mom has to go through every single day that she is away from us. It must be really tough for a mother to be so far away from her children. Last week, mom celebrated her birthday. As our way of thanking her for all that she has given us through the years, my siblings and I thought of sending her gift wrapped gifts online. If it were not for Daisy, a neighbor of ours whose mom is also working abroad, we would not have known that it was actually possible to send gifts online. Mom cried as soon as she got the gifts.
