If you are making an accident at work compensation claim, then you might look to have a no win, no fee solicitor. These are great because they will not charge anything if they lose the case. This can make such a great deal of difference, because the risk of the court case may put off a lot of people from going ahead with one. Many people are already short of money after an injury and to have to risk more to get compensation is too difficult for many.
The solicitors will charge you if you win the case. Despite many horror stories in the press, most solicitors will want to sort out how much you will pay them before they start work. It will normally be up to thirty percent of the compensation that you win. This means that you will not have to worry about getting enough money to pay them, in the same way that you might do if it was a lump sum.
Most solicitors work on this basis. This is a great thing, because it means that you should be able to easily find one which will be good. You want to look around a bit, not only do you need to find one that is willing to represent you, but you also want to find one that you are confident in. If you case is a difficult one, where it is difficult to prove the accident is not your fault, then it may be more difficult to find representation. However, it is important to make sure that you compare your options because you want to make sure that you have the best possible solicitor for the job as no doubt, your employer will have a really good one. You want to give yourself a good chance of winning.
